Some browser records are necessary for a feature you request; others remember a choice you make. No advertising or analytics cookies are installed.
Sign-in, request checks and guest access.
chao_session keeps an account signed in for up to fourteen days. chao_csrf protects forms and game actions for one day. chao_adult remembers the eligibility declaration for thirty days, or until the end of a longer selected browser break.
chao_slot_guest connects this browser to its separate seven-day guest balance. Clearing it ends access to that guest visit; it does not move credits into an account. These first-party cookies use HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, with Secure on HTTPS. Signing out revokes the current account session.
Private support receipts.
chao_support_* cookies permit access only to their associated guest support request, for ninety days. They are scoped to the request page. They do not track your browsing elsewhere.
A support reference is not an access credential by itself. Keep the private page and browser receipt if you want to return to a guest conversation.
Choices you ask this device to remember.
chaohostel-comfort-v1 stores requested sound, reduced motion, calm effects, text size, contrast, visual detail and reminder choices. Signed-in settings also synchronise to the account. The device setting lasts until it is changed or site storage is cleared.
chao-favourites-v1 stores guest favourites, chao-next-up-v1 an ordered list of up to six games, and chaohostel-recent-v1 up to twelve recent visits. Compatible earlier game records can use chao-casual-scores-v1 and chao-playroom-v2; chao-controls-v2 stores control choices. Private browsing or blocked storage can prevent these preferences surviving a visit.
A continuous game and a timely reminder.
Players may use local or session storage for requested controls and the identifier of an interrupted round. This helps recover the same recorded result. Reminder dismissal lasts for the current browser session.
chaohostel-play-start and chaohostel-play-reminded time session reminders and end with that tab session. Sound, quick-spin and reminder choices may also be kept in an account. Preview does not add account rounds.
What remains on the server.
Account favourites, game activity, private Keyring notes and ordered keys follow the signed-in account. They are not erased by clearing local storage. Account privacy provides separate export and deletion controls.
A guest balance is stored by the server but reached through its browser cookie. Losing that cookie can end access to the visit even before its normal expiry.
Changing your storage choices.
The Storage preferences page and Clear device choices in Your room remove supported local guest records. Your browser’s site-data controls can remove all local site storage. Blocking essential cookies prevents sign-in and protected game actions.
Deleting browser records does not end an account break or erase account information. Sign out when leaving a shared device, and contact support for help with an account-data request.
