Christmas Shopping in Bangkok
Sawasdee (hello) krub everyone!
The weather in Bangkok couldn’t be more perfect as Christmas approaches. We hope you’ve had the chance to see the Christmas decorations all over Bangkok, and even hum along to the Christmas tunes that are being played everywhere. If you haven’t or don’t know where to go, fear not fellow travellers, you’ll find them at shopping malls all over Bangkok. Don’t forget there are beer gardens and bars that are surrounded by Christmas lights, Santa and even oversized polar bears. For starters, be sure to check out EmQuartier (BTS Phromphong) outdoor area which is between the two buildings or Central World (BTS Chitlom or BTS Siam) for the Heineken Bar/outdoor area with free entry, right near the big Christmas tree.
Central World (Heneiken Bar Location):
For those of you traveling through here during this festive period and may have to do some Christmas shopping (you know for your folks and friends back at home) and are looking for alternatives to the typical Bangkok shopping malls. We suggest you try the famous weekend mall, Chatuchak (JJ) Market. This market is a maze of wonders for gift shopping. It has everything from puppies, cheap clothes, toys, sculptures, Thai work of art, food, plates and well to no surprise, lots of Christmassy things as well!
The market is located not too far from BTS Mo Chit, which is only 20ish minutes away from Chao Hostel or the Siam. Once you get off at the station, it is only a few more minutes walk in this beautiful weather.
Go on out, explore and experience Christmas in Bangkok, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
Although it has been said, many times and many ways, from all of us at Chao Hostel, Merry Christmas to you.
